About Kaliber Systems

A mission-driven engineering company delivering precision solutions for the world’s most critical defense, aerospace, and space applications.
Kaliber Systems is building the materials platform for extreme environments — on Earth and beyond it. nFrom advanced defense systems to aerospace structures to future space habitats, next-generation infrastructure demands materials that are stronger, lighter, and smarter. Traditional materials treat structure, protection, energy management, and monitoring as separate layers.

Defense
Systems

Mission-critical infrastructure architected for sustained operation in extreme and contested environments.

Aerospace
Engineering

Infrastructure-scale aerospace systems designed for structural efficiency, modularity, and long-cycle validation.

Space
Technology

Foundational space systems engineered for survivability, autonomy, and long-duration deployment.

The K2 Materials Platform

Charles Price is the Founder & CEO of Kaliber Systems Corp., developing resilient, programmable structural architectures for extreme environments. With a background in network architecture and systems design, he approaches material and infrastructure development through a systems-first lens grounded in physical principles. He is the author of Entropy of Everything, which explores unified frameworks of energy and structure. At Kaliber, Charles leads development of the K2 platform — a staged architectural framework designed to anchor survivable infrastructure across defense, aerospace, and long-horizon space applications.

The K2 Materials Platform

K2 is a nanotechnology-enabled composite platform engineered to integrate multiple system functions into a unified material architecture.
By combining advanced 2D materials, reinforced lattice structures, and radiation-aware design principles, K2 is built to:
  • Carry structural loads
  • Improve survivability under shock, heat, and environmental stress
  • Support embedded conductive pathways
  • Enable configurable radiation and thermal behavior
Rather than stacking independent subsystems, K2 consolidates them into an integrated composite architecture designed to reduce system complexity while improving performance.

K2 V1

Structural Architecture

Load-bearing composite engineered for durability and survivability

K2 V2

Integrated Functionality

Embedded pathways for power routing and structural health monitoring.

K2 V3

Radiation & Thermal-Aware Configurations

Architected for harsh aerospace and space environments, with configurable radiation management strategies

The K2 Materials Platform

K2 is a modular, staged platform — not a product. Each version builds upon validated foundations, expanding capability through disciplined progression.

Why It Matters

As aerospace programs expand and space infrastructure accelerates, material efficiency becomes a defining constraint.
Every kilogram matters.
Every interface introduces risk.
Systems built for extreme environments must survive impact, radiation, thermal extremes, and long operational lifetimes without unnecessary complexity.

K2 is designed to treat material not just as structure, but as integrated capability.

Founder Notes

I’ve always believed that humanity’s future extends beyond a single planet.
Not as science fiction but as engineering.
When I began studying advanced materials, what struck me wasn’t just their strength or conductivity. It was the possibility that materials themselves could become systems. That structure could carry load, manage energy, respond to damage, and protect life all at once.
If we are going to build on Mars, or anywhere beyond Earth, we cannot rely on materials designed for highways and office buildings. We will need intelligent structures. Biospheres that protect against radiation. Habitats that manage their own energy. Systems that monitor their own integrity before failure ever occurs.
That is the long-term dream behind Kaliber Systems.
K2 is not just a stronger composite. It is the beginning of a materials architecture designed for environments where survival is not guaranteed and where resilience must be built into the structure itself.
We are taking a disciplined path: validate, test, iterate, partner. Defense and aerospace are our proving grounds. But the horizon is larger.
One day, I believe intelligent biospheres will stand on Mars — and eventually beyond it. When that happens, they will not just be shelters. They will be engineered ecosystems.
Kaliber Systems exists to help make that future possible
